Spooky English

Call it an occupational hazard. Starting out as a sub editor, checking for typos was part of the job. It continued into my advertising days. The compulsion soon became an obsession. Now, you won't believe the stuff I go through to get some of these: Once I asked a burly trucker at a dhaba why nobody spelt 'valve' box correctly. He said it didn't matter how it is written as long as you knew where the 'ball' box was.
